Me & Giraffe
I found this photograph recently, from my trip to Kenya. This is was taken at a Rothschild Giraffe sanctuary in the town of Karen. I found it half-forgotten between the pages of a book I was reading (thus the bad quality). I was reminded of what amazing creatures giraffe are. Their tongues are an indigo-blue and their breath smells sweet, in the same way that a horse's breath often smells of hay. This one was actually only a youngster and very, very hungry. He ate about six handfuls of pellets and even let me caress his neck. I think this could easily be one of my favourite moments ever...thus the silly grin on my face :)
